Coach Brancato is entering his 11th season as the head coach of the Irish. 
In 2020 he guided Sheldon to an overall record of 23-6 and a third consecutive trip to the 6A state quarterfinals.  Over the past 10 years, he has compiled an overall record of 203 wins and 72 losses and has been awarded conference coach of the year 5 times. The Irish have reached the 6A state championship final site (elite 8) five of the past six seasons, reaching the semifinals in 2015 and 2019.  Over the last 11 seasons he has assisted 15 players in moving on to college basketball scholarships at the Division 1, Div. 2, Div. 3, NAIA, and Junior College level.

Coach Brancato graduated from the University of Oregon in 2005 and received his Master's Degree in Education in 2006.  He has taught Social Studies at Sheldon for the past 15 years.
